Kaal Sarp Dosh Diagnostic

Kaal Sarp Dosh forms when every planet sits on one side of the Rahu–Ketu axis.

What is Kaal Sarp Dosh?

Kaal Sarp Dosh forms when all seven classical planets — Sun, Moon, Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus and Saturn — are hemmed on one side of the Rahu–Ketu axis. Rahu is the head and Ketu the tail of the karmic serpent, and when every planet falls between them the chart is said to carry this dosha.

Types and effects

There are twelve named types of Kaal Sarp Dosh (Anant, Kulik, Vasuki, and so on) depending on which houses Rahu and Ketu occupy. Active cases are associated with sudden ups and downs, delays despite genuine effort, recurring obstacles and anxious, snake-related dreams.

If even one planet falls outside the Rahu–Ketu axis, it becomes a partial Kaal Sarp Yoga with reduced intensity.

Remedies for Kaal Sarp Dosh

Perform Kaal Sarp Shanti Puja at Trimbakeshwar (Nashik) or Ujjain.

Recite the Maha Mrityunjaya Mantra daily.

Offer water to a Shivling and worship Lord Shiva on Mondays and Nag Panchami.
