Manglik Dosha — also called Mangal Dosh, Kuja Dosha or Bhom Dosha — is a condition in Vedic astrology that forms when Mars (Mangal) sits in the 1st, 4th, 7th, 8th or 12th house of the birth chart. Mars is the planet of energy, aggression and passion, so when it occupies these sensitive houses it is said to add friction to marriage, temperament and partnership.
A person with this placement is commonly called a Manglik or Mangalik. The dosha is read from three reference points — the Lagna (ascendant), the Moon and Venus — which is why two people can both be 'Manglik' yet experience very different intensity.

Anshik (partial) vs full Manglik
Not every Manglik placement is equal. Mars in the 1st or 7th house is considered stronger, while Mars in the 12th or 4th is often Anshik (partial) Manglik with milder effects. The dosha also weakens with age and is widely believed to reduce significantly after 28 years.
